You have NO IDEA how happy i was to see that everything picked up right where we left off. That was probably the thing i was worried most about this summer, and then all day today i was like "i wonder! oh shit! what the!" Oh man, during my class tonight, i kept looking at my watch, and after 8:00 like, every five minutes i just kept thinking "I'LL BET LUKE AND LORELAI ARE MAKING OUT RIGHT NOW AND I'M MISSING IT AHGDLJSAGF:AKSGF:" But there wasn't making out! But there was the SHIPPINESS.

Anyway! What! I don't know! Oh! Okay. Yay for picking up where we left off! All the giddy beginning craziness! Sookie finding out ooooohhhh my goodness. SO CUTE. When Kirk said it and Luke all the sudden being like "..." And then the next morning and Lorelai practically ignoring him, it was so sad and exactly what there was to be afraid of, aw. But then they talked! On the phone! With the sneaking into the other room to talk and being all HAPPY and CUTE! I like how when Luke answers the phone he's all surly, but then he finds out it's Lorelai and he's all happy. See, he always pretends Lorelai makes him surly, but he's really bad at hiding the truth. Silly bitter Luke! So silly.

I AM SO GLAD WE DIDN'T PICK UP AT THE END OF THE SUMMER. Just had to emphasize that.

Do you KNOW what my FAVORITE thing EVER was? Well, i'll tell you. Luke's messages on Lorelai's answering machine. Favorite thing ever. EVER. Do you know what it reminded me of? Swingers. Which is one of my favorite things! Goofy awkward early-relationship-trying-not-to-scare-you-off messages. Except it wasn't scary like Mikey's, it was endearing like Heather Graham's. I'm sure nobody really cares about the Swingers thing, but i just had to say. Luke's messages. Best thing ever. He rambled! He pretended he hadn't given too much information! He forgot to leave the phone number! Aww. Luke.

Lorelai's happy! And Luke's happy! NOW THEY NEED TO MAKE OUT SOME MORE AND HAVE SEX OKAY. But, i mean, after a gradual build-up. Of course. Yes, of course, that's what i meant.

On the other hand, the whole Rory/Dean mess is making me very uncomfortable. I mean... Dean, Dean, Dean. Oh, Dean. You're a bad husband and a terrible person. He sort of made me sad in the beginning, when he was listening to Rory and Lorelai, but the rest of the time i mostly felt bad for Lindsay. Especially at the end, when they were both happy together, because she was trying so hard. Poor Lindsay. I'm glad that what Lorelai said stuck with Rory and she backed off (but only after she had sex with Dean AGAIN! AAGGADFKHGAFDGHF she dated him for forEVER and got bored with him and treated him badly and now she can't resist him? What a little hussy.) I miss Chilton!Rory. Her loss of innocence disturbs me.

It's still weird to me that Emily and Richard have split up. It's just... no. They need to work things out, because i think of them in Forgiveness and Stuff and how adorable they can be and it's too sad.

Random great things: Lane! The band! Lane having to whisper about sex! Sookie and Luke hugging! LukeandLorelai! Kirk's night terrors! Sookie always thought it would be on a table! Lorelai on the floor of the closet with her shoes off hunched up with the phone! Luke getting a cell phone because of Lorelai even though he hates them!

Oh, and WHOAH, how great was the directing this ep? I just checked, and apparently it was ASP. Cool beans. SO many pretty pretty shots (Dean outside the house, Rory in the mirror at Miss Patty's, the end scenes of Dean/Lindsey and Richard/Emily) AND, everyone looked so pretty! Lorelai's hair and makeup were absolutely FABULOUS. And Luke, well. Luke. Looks nice.

So glad it picked up where we left off. SO glad. And see, they got rid of Rory and Luke, so there's an out to skip over some time (i was hoping they would do that. I figured they would, instead of just having nothing happen over the summer or making us miss EVERYTHING.) We got to see the immediate aftermath yay! Lorelai was avoidant and Luke was worried, but then it all worked out and they're happy yay! (although i do still want more avoidant!Lorelai and worried!Luke because ANGST! Yay! Err, except i know that'll be soon anyway, for different reasons besides their built-in perfect anxieties. Argh.)

Hey! Hey. LukeandLorelai. It's so WEIRD to me that they're gonna be all couple-y now. OHMYGOD BRAIN EXPLODING. Please maintain typical amounts of argumentative banter and coffee consumption. Ooh, good-natured fighting and then making out! I CAN'T WAIT.

p.s. next week please actually get to kiss! Also, look at Dean's hair!
