Everything gets married! Even animals and spiders.
AAAAAACCCCCKKKKK!!!!! Alias really fucking freaks me out. I think i liked the ep, if my utterly insane giddiness during it is any indication.

-Heh, the satellite 'splosion was soooo Smallville.

-EEEE!!! Getting drunk with Weiss!! (somewhat ironic that just this week i started my drunk!fic, you know, from that dream i had that [info]dafnap suggested i write... yeah. Funny the ties between Alias and inebriation.) But uh, yeah, soooooso cute. And HAPPY! And PRETTY! Me like.

-ACKACKACK. The triangle really freaks me out. It does. A lot. When they were all just standing there, i was like "awkward much?" and then Marshall said "awkward!" and it made me laaaaaugh. Me and Alias, we're on the same wavelength.

-Oh noooooo, Vaughn and Laureeeen! AAACK! Ya see, i was trying really hard to be accepting, i was. And Lauren going off with the "I hate her!" was really funny. And i liked Vaughn defending Syd. But then there was "I love you" and kissing, and IT BURNS, IT BURNS!! Terrible pain! I don't like this anymore! I wanna go hoooooome! Vaughn loves SYDNEY! AJAGDDGAHFGHJAFG!! But, uh, other than that, i'm fine with everything. Ahem.

-Bwaaah. Syd's "disguise" in Mexico was hilarious. Yep, best disguise ever. :D Oh, and uh, HOLY SHIT Sark. The hotness. Sunglasses and the hot. Hot. Hothot. Hot. Am still loving the short hair. Whoooooo.

-I'm not really liking being hit over the head with the triangle stuff everywhere we look. Really. Dude. Do they have to either be awkwardly together or jealous in every scene? Gah.

-Slooooooane! Dude, saying how relieved Vaughn must be to have Syd back, and then smiling about it- bwah! He's so eeeeevil!

-Aw, Vaughn can't tie a bowtie. Hee. I admit, the scene was reeeally cute. I was all "awww", which i shouldn't! Because Vaughn+married=bad! But... awwww! They're pretty and sweet! I don't know if i buy why he MARRIED her yet, but... meh. And poooor Syd. But THEN! When Vaughn was walking out of the room with Syd, and his hand was thisclose to being on her back, and EEE!! Dude, i got choked up. It's the little things, it really is.

-OOooohh, the MISSION! How much do i love seeing Syd and Vaughn together like that? SO MUCH! Okay. Really. The hit-you-over-the-head-with-its-obviousness LOOK in the ballroom scene... it made me cry. I ADMIT IT. It's just so saaaaad, i can't help it. They... they... WUV each other! *sob* And getting naked in the elevator made me giggle maniacally. Because, well... NEKKID!! WHEEEE! *does a little dance* That was some serious hotness right there. I like to think that the elevator broke down at that very moment and they had the super!sekrit!spysex! Hmmm... yes. Or at least when they thought they could have died. They could have done it then, too. I'm not picky.

-Aww, Weiss!huggage! Seriously dude, it's all about the Syd/Weiss now. I wouldn't be surprised if they hooked up, but i'm not sure how i feel about that. On the one hand - AWWWWWW!!! But on the other hand, he's the only friend Syd's got, so she really doesn't need to hook up with him. And on the rebound, no less. But they're KYOOT!! Argh! It's confooosing.

-Now, all the callbacks to earlier episodes. Seriously, there were a bunch. Around 3/4 of the way through i was really getting freaked out about how many old eps i was reminded of, and then i remembered "D'OH! 47th episode!" The drunken conversation about Syd's belongings and "newspaper clippings" e.g. of Irina's death, "picture frames", e.g. Vaughn's Christmas gift in Spirit. Mentions of "Phase One" and then "Phase Two". Weiss mentioning Duran Duran, and Francie mentioning them in The Counteragent. Weiss saying Lauren is "a good person", Vaughn saying the SAME thing about Alice in The Counteragent. Vaughn walking into the cabin on the plane looking just like he did in Double Agent. This isn't a good one, but Syd, Vaughn, and Sloane together, with Sloane bringing up something about S/V to get to them, reminded me of A Free Agent. Marshall offering people candy like in Mea Culpa. Syd shooting up at Sark behind a window was obviously JUST like in The Counteragent. And of course Alice in Wonderland, which in itself is a myriad of references.

Weeeeellll. Another Sunday, another episode over too quickly. When i really stop to think about it, not a whole lot happened in it. The CIA almost-but-not-quite found out Syd killed Lazaray, they destroyed some thingie called Medusa, aaaaand... there were lots of triangular hijinks. So it felt a little off in that respect, and i think i'm really feeling the lack of Will and Francie and Irina, but i still can't bring myself to be "meh" about it at all. I still get too freaked out, i can't heeeelp it! And next week!! With Justin Theroux and the hotness and the msfhansdgfkadsg!! Why is Syd being evil?? I DON'T KNOW!! And, well... Justin Theroux. Siiiigh.

Hee, new icon. I miiiiiisssss my Will/Vaughn scenes. *sniff* WILL COME BACK I MISS YOU SO MUCH!! And yes, Aerosmith was stuck in my head yesterday. Bwah.

I love your analysis of Alias, it's always entertaining, even if I have no idea what's going on. Bad Julia. Reading those spoilers again. Stooooop meeee! It's the icon's fault. Really. It is. Loooved that scene! Wiiiill and Vaughnie!

Oh dear! Marina you gotta read RotK! How can you stand the suspense?! I finished the 2nd one and first thing I did was go out and buy the next one! But my favouritest ever was TTT.

And I know I SHOULD download eps. I gotta work out this bittorrent thingy and then i can get tv shows and movies. Why must I be so technologically dense?! ;)

Still, liking S2 cos I still have new will scenes and vaughn. oh the prettiness!

I was reading your LJ entry about OotP cos I didn't read it when you wrote it and you voiced so many things that I also felt/noticed. Don't be surprised if an email from me regarding this, pops up in your inbox one of these days.

No! I'll have a week or two to read at home. That's how i did it last year, too. I haaaave to read it before i see it... i can appreciate the book more for itself instead of imagining the movie as i read everything, ya know?

Ah ok. I take ages to read LOTR cos of all the detail and intense-ness! But I guess if I just sat down and read I could read it within a week. When I read them all I was stop-starting all the time and it ended up taking me ages! Yep, you def. need to read the book before the movie. last year though i forgot huge chunks of the book when I was watching the movie. I think I'm gonna re-read RotK before the movie to refresh my memory!

Thanks for that link! [wow you didn't scan it? ;)] Nope, my version doesn't have pictures. To be expected though- we get crap-all! The pictures are cool!

Dude, it's SO weird seeing the movie immediately after reading the book, because you notice every. single. little change. All the tiny details and everything... it's crazy. It's also distracting the first time watching the movie, too, but i don't mind. It just makes it so cool to see the things you imagined recreated on-screen.

That should be good in a way then! I love tiny details!

So true. It's like you're trying to take in all the storyline and the actors and the cinematography and everything! Hmm how far away is it now?! ;) What date does it come out in US? It comes out here 26/12.

It just makes it so cool to see the things you imagined recreated on-screen.

I know! It's always weird though cos everything I imagine in my head is on a smaller scale. Like all the landscape is tiny in my head! It's weird. I have yet to see the HP movies as well so that should be interesting! Harry and Hermione look kinda like I imagined them but Ron doesn't!

Over here it comes out December 17. I think that gives me at least a good two weeks to read it at home. ;)

Like all the landscape is tiny in my head!

Hee! That's funny! I think it actually is smaller in my head too... i guess because i look at the map of Middle Earth a lot to figure out where they are, so i imagine it based on the full picture, so everything is sort of in there.

I have yet to see the HP movies as well so that should be interesting! Harry and Hermione look kinda like I imagined them but Ron doesn't!

Wow, you haven't seen them?? They aren't really how i picture everything, but it's funny when some things do match up almost exactly to how i imagined them. And Hermione is the one closest to the image in my head. I think before the movies i had a different image of Ron, but now when i read the books, he's more like movie-Ron in my head. If that makes sense. ;)

I wish I could draw out of my head like that! I always need reference pics.

Me too! I'm sooooo not as good at drawing from my imagination. I CAN do it, but i'm much better when drawing from life.

No fair! You guys get it 10days early! I think I may have to avoid the internet in those 10 days! I really really don't want to be spoiled! You know my resistance with spoilers is not good! but when it comes to LOTR I'm better!

Hee! That's funny! I think it actually is smaller in my head too... i guess because i look at the map of Middle Earth a lot to figure out where they are, so i imagine it based on the full picture, so everything is sort of in there.

It's weird cos everything i imagine is just like a different form of places I've been to! So I imagine Hogwarts as a bigger version of my primary school's grounds (with a castle on top)- weird huh? In LOTR I never really looked at the map much- so unsurprisingly when I'm watching the movies I'm all like 'where is that?'.

Wow, you haven't seen them??

You know me- if tons of people like something it takes me ages to give it a chance! I'm kinda crazy like that! But I'm going to see them as soon as I can borrow them off a friend.

They aren't really how i picture everything, but it's funny when some things do match up almost exactly to how i imagined them. And Hermione is the one closest to the image in my head.

I see Dumbledore as like a fat Santa Claus kinda person and Neville as a skinny little boy. I guess some of the descriptions in the book I ignore and make my own version. ;)

I think before the movies i had a different image of Ron, but now when i read the books, he's more like movie-Ron in my head. If that makes sense. ;)

Yep it does make sense. I'm all movie-versionised with the LOTR books. I can't remember how I imagined all the characters pre-movie! But I'm sure with HP similar thing will happen. On a side note-OtoP was so angsty!

Me too! I'm sooooo not as good at drawing from my imagination. I CAN do it, but i'm much better when drawing from life.

I'm best using photos and then drawing from life. But from my imagination I'd just have crappy scribbles! I really need to work on my drawing skills! i can do portraits fine and that's about it!

Oh nooo! But really, how much can you be spoiled if you've already read it? I guess with pictures and HOW they did stuff in the movie, but... it doesn't seem like it'd be too bad.

It's weird cos everything i imagine is just like a different form of places I've been to! So I imagine Hogwarts as a bigger version of my primary school's grounds

That's so funny! But a lot of the time i do the same thing. I still imagine it like a castle, and the dungeon is a dungeon, but the rest of the classrooms look like my 9th grade biology classroom, because i really liked it in there. Hee.

I see Dumbledore as like a fat Santa Claus kinda person and Neville as a skinny little boy. I guess some of the descriptions in the book I ignore and make my own version. ;)

I do the SAME thing! I just automatically get a picture of some of them myself, so i ignore how they're described in the book. In my head, Dumbledore used to be really tall and skinny and bald and wearing a pinstripe suit (no, seriously. He seemed like an old-fashioned classy guy), and McGonagall was always really short and stout. Now i've come to imagine them as they're supposed to be, but most of the time that's how i thought of them.

But from my imagination I'd just have crappy scribbles! I really need to work on my drawing skills!

Heh, i can mostly just do the same thing over and over. Like drawing people, i can only do them in one or two positions... i can't imagine other positions or placement or anything well enough in my head to draw it. It's frustrating as hell. Makes me feel uncreative. Argh!

I know! It's true that I can't really get spoiled but still...the directing. I guess I'm just being pedantic, but for once I'm not reading or exposing myself to possible spoilers. Trailer screen caps do NOT count in my world ;) It'll be interesting to see how everything plays out. I won't say anything else cos I know you haven't read the book.

That's so funny! But a lot of the time i do the same thing. I still imagine it like a castle, and the dungeon is a dungeon, but the rest of the classrooms look like my 9th grade biology classroom, because i really liked it in there. Hee.

I know! It's really weird. It's like Hogwarts on my old school oval. And Hagrid's house is where the longjump pit was! It's ca-raaazy! And the Quidditch pitch is so tiny! My imagination is just plain weird! Good to see though that I'm not the only person who does this! I'm sure this will all change when I see the movie though.

I do the SAME thing! I just automatically get a picture of some of them myself, so i ignore how they're described in the book.

Yep! So if something doesn't agree with my view of the characters my made-up version is just as good! LOL.

In my head, Dumbledore used to be really tall and skinny and bald and wearing a pinstripe suit (no, seriously. He seemed like an old-fashioned classy guy)

hehehe. That's funny! The pinstripe suit thing. It's the name 'Dumbledore' that makes me picture him like Santa though! It seems all rosy and fat and cheerful! It's interesting hearing another person's view of this!

Now i've come to imagine them as they're supposed to be, but most of the time that's how i thought of them.

Yeah I guess you have a 'corrected' view of them now! Sometimes I'll be reading and trying to imagine stuff another way as to how I have them cos it's just not working in the context of stuff. Tis weird!

Heh, i can mostly just do the same thing over and over. Like drawing people, i can only do them in one or two positions...

Yeah, I guess you'd get positions that were just kinda habit and such. I really gotta try to draw more stuff out of my head. I rely on realism to much. I guess that's not a BAD thing but still.

It's frustrating as hell. Makes me feel uncreative. Argh!

Bwah! You, feel uncreative?! Uh suuuure! ;) Seriously though I know what you mean! My art is all off reference pics. I do have some conceptual stuff but not a lot. I gotta do more! In the meantime I might just stick to the fanart portraits! Gotta decide who to do next. Maybe MV or Johnny Depp or something. I really don't know who you'll suggest! ;) Anyway, it'd be great to see some of your "real" art if you're up to it! Your choice.

I feel like we're playing comment-tennis or something! ;) It's good though!

From what I can see, the writers are still very aware of the importance of the Sydney and Vaughn relationship, and are being as respectful to it as possible, while still moving the characters in separate, hopefully, more developed directions.

And you're right - tonight's ep was like a quick brush up recap/shout out to everyone who's been watching from day one (or quickly bought the DVDs, hee) but also a pretty stand alone character sketch of everyone on the show.

I like Lauren and Vaughn, I like them together, but it being Alias, and JJ, you never know what'll happen. I just hope the fall out isn't too horrible - and I really hope Lauren doesn't turn out to be just evil (I could handle Irina like double agent 'evil', not your standard bitchy wife evil) because I love her already and I don't want to see her become a victim of a plot point.

Yeah, i agree with that. They're still throwing in plenty of S/V for those of us who refuse to move on ;), but are still going to move on to some new stuff.

I really hope Lauren doesn't turn out to be just evil (I could handle Irina like double agent 'evil', not your standard bitchy wife evil)

Oh, TOTALLY. That seems like it would be a cop-out to get rid of her. I think JJ wants to do interesting stuff with her and so won't go about trivializing her like that.

Oh, I totally get the whole Lauren complex. Right now, I'm so not sure whether or not I should hate her or not. This also might be due to the fact that my 'shipper scale is tilting and I just don't know who to 'ship anymore. Maybe I'll just leave it that way.

Super!sekrit!spysex! That calls for some funny iconage.

That smiling scene was pretty awkward too. For me, it seemed out of place. They can share awkward smiles later. Or maybe it was because they were remembering how it was to do missions together again. And what was with Lauren looking anxiously at Vaughn the entire time he was guiding Syd and stuff?

Weiss has become godly too me. Seriously, he's a little too good.

No, it was the LOVE. ;) I loooooved it, but i'm a total sap and am grasping on to all the S/V i can get. I think they kind of were happy to be working together again, and Vaughn was kind of registering his happiness to see Syd, being alive and stuff. Hmm...

Looks like someone's got the desktop as well ;) Love those rare pics. Nice surprises.

Yeah, I love the way Vaughn acted towards Lauren, unfortunately/ironically. The tone he used with her was very gentle. But at the same time, I was thinking that Syd should be the one he's using that tone with. And when he said ILY to Lauren...ahhhh! Why didn't you say that to Syd when you guys were together?? Geez. Do you have to marry this man to hear him say the words? So I don't like how he's treating Lauren so nice, but I do cause that's how he'd treat Syd (except it's Lauren -_-) and he's so Vaughn like that?? Am I making sense?!

And yes!! You noticed him putting his hand on her back too right?? Ahhhh. He cares! And it hurts :(

And that smile-exchange. Like old times. Wow, the music on the bg was so effective.

And in the elevator? Notice how Syd glanced at him?? Well, I would've stared! HAHAHHA

P.S Love love love your S/V icon. ANGST baby!

What? Ooooh, the media desktop thingie? I don't have that! Why, did this Will/Vaughn picture show up on it the other day? That's weeeird, cause i was just randomly inspired by hearing Aerosmith. Heh. I did think it was coincidental i made the icon at the 3rd ep of s3 when that pic is from the 3rd ep of s2. Corazy.

But at the same time, I was thinking that Syd should be the one he's using that tone with. And when he said ILY to Lauren...ahhhh! Why didn't you say that to Syd when you guys were together?? Geez.

I knooooooowww!! The whole time i was like "nononono, that's how he acts with SYDNEY!! Use comfort!Vaughn voice with SYDNEY! Say 'i love you' to SYDNEY!!" Gaaah. It's so depressing. And it still pisses me off they never said 'i love you'. When you think about it, he probably knew Syd longer than he's known Lauren, too. I'll bet you sooo much they were gonna say the i love yous in Santa Barbara. GAH! DAMMIT! AJGDFDGLKF!! Sad.

And that smile-exchange. Like old times. Wow, the music on the bg was so effective.

Sigh. It really was. It was such a pretty moment, and it made me saaaad in a happy way, cause it was all sad and UST-y, but it was like, such a MOMENT! gaaaah. *dies*

What? Ooooh, the media desktop thingie? I don't have that!
Oh really? Then it is weird cause that pic did show up. I think you should get the desktop anyway cause they have some never-before-seen pics once in a while. You get three pics daily. A nice little Alias boost there...to kick off the morning...or midnight haha

*nods* Exactly. It was so depressing to watch...just cause that wasn't Syd. Ahhh, it's so conflicting.

and it made me saaaad in a happy way
I know. It wasn't sad as in sad. There was some happiness involved...in an ironic way. That moment JJ developed was very complex...so hard to articulate what the moment meant. That scene reminded me of LostiT a little...this unspoken meaning.

Yeah, I make a lotta sense.

Like, dude, of *course*!
How did I not see all of those? I caught the whole Counteragent thing, and when she mentioned pictures and picture frames my mind kind of went "hey, that's just like that picture when...oh never mind something else is happening now." Good call with the whole 47th episode thing, now it all makes sense.

I *adored* the music they played in Act 1 when Syd first came into the CIA, bridging from the Syd/Weiss tequila fest. :)

And I can't *wait* until next week! Eee! MemoryLoss!Syd is back!

I don't knoooow! Hee, but i always feel stupid when people point out things that should have been obvious. I just get reminded of the little things really easily.

Yes! That was cool, i really liked how they did that. And aww, sadSyd. :(

Everything is so weirrrrdd!! I'm right there with you on every point, too.
The LOOK in the ballroom? I was making these weird noises like a dog being strangled. Good times. And the nakedness in the elevator? Duuudddddeeeeee how come we never got any of that in season 1? That would've been so so hot.
And I've concluded that I hate lauren. Because Vaughn loves her and he's only supposed to love Sydney. In reality, I should be mad at Vaughn, but I can't bring myself to do that. Not yet.

Bwahahaha! Me too, my friend. Me. too.

Hee! If only. But naaah, it wouldn't have worked in s1. It would have been too much... our brains would have exploded trying to figure out why they didn't have sex right then and there.

In reality, I should be mad at Vaughn, but I can't bring myself to do that.

Well, i really don't wanna be mad at anyone. But it makes the most sense to take it out on Lauren, since she's the only character that we're not as emotionally invested in. But... but... it's nobody's fault! It's the situation! It reallyreallyreally SUCKS! Argh.
